Originally published as an Avon Romantic Treasure, publisher Avon referred to MacKinnon’s Bride as the “Energizer Bunny of Books” – sales kept going and going and going! Initially, this book was a single title and not part of a series, but the truth is that it wasn’t just the readers who fell in love with the characters. So did I, and thus began the Highland Brides series.

Over the years, I have received so many amazing letters and emails from readers who put this book on their keeper shelves and read their dog-eared copies so many times that they would come to me searching for new editions. Once it went out of print, I shared all my author copies and ended up without even a single one for myself. So now I’m so pleased to announce the return of the MacKinnon’s Bride as an e-book. Now, with an all-new cover designed by the amazing Ravven and re-edited, it’s available on all platforms and at various retailers, including Barnes&Noble, Amazon and Kobo. If you’ve been waiting to add this book to your e-reader, or have never read it, I officially welcome you to the first of the Highland Brides!

Céad Míle Fáilte! (One hundred thousand welcomes!)

  1. The entire series is on my keeper shelf. Cherished! :)

    Love this new cover.

  2. Tanya, I went looking for a series not too long ago that I had read three out of four and the author recently published in e-format so I got that long sought after 3rd book in that series. As I was looking for those three, I came across so many of my favorites that have been on my keeper shelf that were calling to me to re-read and yours were in those that were calling. I will pull yours out and reread them and leave reviews. I want to be able to remember all the little things that made me fall in love, made me laugh, and at times made me cry, so I feel I need to reread them to do that to give them the review they deserve.

I found Angel Of Fire in 1993 when I started reading and I own each book after that through Lion Heart. I just read your post about Lion Heart and some changes you’re making to the e-book and I will get those new e-pubs too. We all look back on our accomplishments and think we could have done better, and maybe we could have, but that doesn’t take away from the original and I have to say that I loved them all, as they were the first time around. So, as I get them re-read, I’ll write reviews and let you know as I get them finished. I remember writing to you back then letting you know how much they meant to me but I want to thank you again for being one of those writers who took me to places my heart yearns for. :)

    • Please only leave a review if you feel inspired! That’s perfectly understandable. You might be happy to know that we’re focusing on the medievals first. Next is Once Upon a Kiss and after that will be either Angel of Fire or Lion Heart – depending on how revisions go! And thank you so much for your kind words … I promise I won’t change the story itself much. It’s more a matter of strengthening it and giving it the benefit of what I have learned. I felt Broc deserved that!

  3. I’m smiling here. I do know that I felt inspired the first time I read them. I haven’t picked one up yet that was on my keeper shelf that I found my feelings had changed. It always feels like a going home of sorts. Revisiting old friends that are dear to my heart.
